Spring Cleaning

Spring is around the corner and now is the perfect time to freshen up your home. With warmer days and longer evenings, it's a great opportunity to tackle some deep cleaning tasks that will help transform your home into a relaxing and welcoming space. If you're thinking about putting your house on the market, now is the time to start spring cleaning.

Here are some tips for making your home more inviting, improving its curb appeal, and showing potential buyers that it's been well-cared for:

  1. Let Natural Light In: Open curtains or blinds during the day to let natural light in and create a warm ambiance throughout your home. If privacy is a concern, consider sheer curtains or blinds that allow light to filter through while still providing some level of privacy.
  2. Check Light Bulbs: Replace as needed. Use decorative bulbs when possible to add attention to detail.
  3. Declutter/ Depersonalize: Start by decluttering your home. Get rid of anything you no longer need or use, and donate or sell items that are in good condition but no longer serve a purpose in your home. Removing clutter will instantly make your home feel more spacious and organized. This is a great opportunity to also remove any personal items and place in storage for your move.
  4. Fix Anything Broken: Minor repairs completed before selling your home shows you have maintained the home and leaves less room for buyer to look for negotiating room.
  5. Deep Clean: Give your home a thorough deep clean from top to bottom. Dust all surfaces, wash windows inside and out, scrub floors and carpets, and wipe down walls. Don’t forget the vents and baseboards. *This is a great time to replace your air filter for your HVAC.
  6. Organize: Place items the are not used everyday away. Organize cabinets and closets. * Placing items in boxes or bins helps give an organized appearance.
  7. Freshen up the Paint: Touchup any nail holes from depersonalizing your home with a little putty. Paint any scuffs and nail touch ups around the home.
  8. Improve Curb Appeal: First impressions are everything when it comes to selling a home. Enhance your curb appeal by adding fresh flowers or potted plants near the front door, power washing the exterior of your home or repainting if necessary.

By following these tips, you'll be able to get your home ready for sale this spring season!  Small changes can have a big impact on how welcoming your space feels. Remember that first impressions matter most when it comes to selling a house so make sure every corner of your property is perfect before letting anyone in for viewing!

BONUS TIPS:

* Add Fresh Scents: Bring in fresh scents like lavender or lemon to create a calming atmosphere throughout your home. You can do this by lighting candles, using essential oils, or simply opening windows to let in the fresh air.

* Update Your Decor: Switch out heavy winter decor for a few lighter spring options like bright throw pillows or floral patterns. Adding pops of color can really brighten up a space and make it feel more welcoming.
